How many people can I add?
Choose 1–29 paid seats during setup. Before checkout, the workspace is a free trial with up to 3 seats, so you can invite 2 teammates. For a larger org, school, or district, talk to our team.
How does billing work?
After naming the team, choose the seat count and either Premium or Laureate, then pay through Stripe monthly or yearly. Yearly billing saves 20%. You can try the trial workspace before checkout.
What AI models do teams get?
During the free trial, each person's personal plan controls their AI models and limits. Premium for Teams gives every paid seat Premium; Laureate for Teams adds the Frontier models by name. A stronger personal plan still wins. Every paid seat gets unlimited AI chat across models from seven labs: OpenAI (GPT 5.6 Luna), Anthropic (Claude Haiku 4.5), Google (the Gemini Flash family), Mistral (Large 3, Small 4), Z.ai (GLM 5.3 Flash), DeepSeek (V4.1 Flash), and Meta (Muse Spark 1.3) — including open-source models from Mistral, Z.ai, and DeepSeek. The creation tools add xAI (Grok 4.6), Moonshot AI (Kimi K3), Claude Sonnet 5, and frontier models like GPT 5.6 Sol and Claude Opus 5. Admins control which models the team can use, and because providers differ on content policies and availability, no single company's rules or outages stop your team's work.
Where are the AI models hosted?
Scholarly routes across models from nine AI labs, including open-source models from Mistral, Z.ai, DeepSeek, and Moonshot AI. Teams with European data requirements can use EU-hosted models, and if your organization needs every model hosted in the US or EU, contact us and we'll set that up for your Teams workspace.
Can we restrict which AI models the team uses?
Yes. Admins choose model access for the whole team from Team → Billing, under Plan & AI models, model by model or by tier, and can turn on a Zero Data Retention rule so only models on approved zero-retention routes stay available. A team policy can only remove access, never grant a model above someone’s plan.
Does Scholarly train AI models on our documents?
No, not by default. Scholarly's Terms of Service (section 7) state that private User Content is not used to train general-purpose AI models; an optional Scholarly training program requires separate, informed opt-in, and stricter connected-service restrictions still apply. Your library is processed only to deliver the features you ask for, and admins can add a Zero Data Retention rule so the team only uses models on approved zero-retention routes.
Does Teams use a separate AI Creation Credit balance?
No. During the trial, everyone uses their personal limits. After checkout, each paid seat gets the selected Premium or Laureate limits. Reporting focuses on activity and adoption, not a shared wallet.
How do people join the team?
The free trial includes up to 3 seats, so you can invite by email or share a join link right away, and assign each person as a Member or Admin. The selected team plan turns on for each seat after the owner buys it.
Is this an LMS?
No. Scholarly makes the content itself — videos, decks, quizzes, podcasts, summaries, research reports — from material you already have. There's no course catalogue, seat-time tracking, or compliance reporting, so teams typically use it alongside an LMS or on its own for material that never justified a full course build.
Is Scholarly Teams just a training tool?
No. Training is one of the jobs teams run on Scholarly, not the whole product. The same shared library powers research — cited answers and Deep Research reports — and production: narrated videos, podcasts, slide decks, documents, quizzes, and meeting notes. If your team never builds a course, Scholarly still works as its all-in-one AI workspace for documents.
What can a team create?

How do we know the output is accurate?
Artifacts are generated from the sources you upload, and cited answers link back to the original document and page. Review important output against those sources before sharing or acting on it.
