Comparing tools for a whole team?

Scholarly Teams puts your team, class, lab, or company on one plan — every feature unlocked for every member, all built from your shared material.

Where ChatGPT Business (formerly Team) Still Shines

ChatGPT Business (formerly Team) is a great tool with real strengths worth acknowledging.

Best-in-Class Workplace Chat

ChatGPT Business (formerly Team) is outstanding for drafting, brainstorming, research, and everyday workplace questions in a shared workspace. If your team's main need is a broad AI work assistant, it is a strong choice.

Coding and Technical Help

For debugging, code review, and technical problem-solving, ChatGPT Business remains one of the strongest general assistants. Engineers and operators use it for broad tasks that are not tied to a training curriculum.

Projects, Apps, and Company Knowledge

Shared Projects, apps, custom GPTs, and Company Knowledge make ChatGPT Business a flexible workplace hub. Scholarly does not try to replace that ecosystem — it focuses on durable learning artifacts from your sources.

Why Students Switch to Scholarly

Training Artifacts, Not Just Answers

ChatGPT Business can research, draft, and create work products. Scholarly makes training artifacts first-class: quizzes, flashcards with SRS, narrated video lectures, training podcasts, slide decks, study guides, and graded practice your L&D team can reuse.

Grounded in Your Company Docs

Upload handbooks, SOPs, product docs, and policies once. Scholarly builds every output from those pages with citations, so training reflects how your company actually works — not a generic internet summary.

Shared Libraries Built for Learning

Put sources in a shared team library so every member generates from the same source of truth. Admins invite by email or link, assign Member or Admin roles, and keep one central per-seat bill.

Per-Member Weekly Credits

Every seat gets 450 AI credits per week — per person, not a shared pool one power user can drain. Credits reset weekly so each teammate starts fresh.

Frontier Models for Serious Work

Teams unlock Opus 4.8 and Fable 5 across features, plus paid models such as Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol. Admins choose which model tiers the team can use.

From Meetings to Training Packs

Record a training session or upload the audio. Scholarly produces AI Meeting Notes, then turns that material into flashcards, quizzes, and guides — closing the loop ChatGPT leaves as a transcript in chat.

How Scholarly Works

Step 1: Add Your Content

Upload PDFs, paste notes, add images, or link YouTube videos. Any study material works.

Step 2: AI Generates Cards

Our AI reads your material and creates comprehensive flashcards with accurate questions and answers.

Step 3: Study & Export

Study with spaced repetition in Scholarly, or export to Anki, Quizlet, or PDF. Your cards, your choice.

Scholarly vs ChatGPT Business (formerly Team): A Closer Look

ChatGPT Business is a strong AI workspace. Shared Projects, Company Knowledge, Deep Research, apps, and a familiar chat UI make it a capable choice for writing, coding, research, and broad workplace tasks. Many companies should keep it for exactly that job.

For L&D, the difference is the output model. ChatGPT can work from shared context and create drafts or presentations; Scholarly ships quizzes, spaced-repetition decks, narrated training videos, podcasts, and graded practice as native, reusable learning objects.

Scholarly is not a ChatGPT Business replacement for general work. It is the training layer next to it: upload company docs, generate source-grounded learning artifacts, share a library, and manage seats with per-member weekly credits from $45/seat/month ($324/seat/year). Self-serve from 1–29 seats, or email hello@scholarly.so for larger rollouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Scholarly a ChatGPT Business / ChatGPT Team alternative?

For training and L&D, yes. Scholarly turns company docs into reusable quizzes, flashcards, video lectures, podcasts, and graded practice with shared libraries and team admin. For broad workplace writing, research, coding, and connected company knowledge, ChatGPT Business remains a strong companion.

Can ChatGPT Business generate quizzes and flashcards?

ChatGPT Business can draft quiz questions and study material from files, Projects, or Company Knowledge. Scholarly differs by providing first-class SRS flashcards, graded practice exams, narrated video lectures, and a reusable training artifact library.

How does Scholarly Teams pricing compare?

Scholarly Teams is $45 per seat per month, or $324 per seat per year. Every member gets 450 weekly AI credits, frontier models (Opus 4.8 and Fable 5), shared libraries, and admin roles. Self-serve from 1–29 seats; email hello@scholarly.so for larger plans.

Absolutely. Many teams keep ChatGPT for writing and coding, and use Scholarly for onboarding packs, knowledge checks, and durable training artifacts from internal docs.

What admin controls do teams get?

Invite by email or link, Member and Admin roles, shared source libraries, model-tier controls, per-member usage, and one central bill. Built for learning outcomes, not just chat workspace settings.

Teams unlock Opus 4.8 and Fable 5, plus paid models such as Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, across every AI feature. Admins decide which tiers members can use.
