Is the AI note editor free to use?

Yes — you can start writing notes and using AI autocomplete for free. Exporting to Word, PowerPoint, PDF, Markdown, or Google Docs is a paid feature, while sharing pages with a link is free. Higher AI usage limits and advanced features are available on paid plans.

Can I write math equations in my notes?

Yes. The editor supports full LaTeX via KaTeX, so you can render equations beautifully inline or as standalone blocks.

How does AI autocomplete work?

Pause while typing and AI suggests a continuation, reading the blocks above and below and your page title. Press Tab or Accept to take it, ask for another, or dismiss it. You can set the tone and style it writes in, or switch it off, in Settings.

Can I export my notes?

Yes — on paid plans you can export any page as an editable Word (.docx) or PowerPoint (.pptx) file, as PDF or Markdown, or save it straight to Google Docs or Google Slides with Google Drive connected. Every plan can share pages with a free link.

Can I turn my notes into flashcards?

Yes. You can create flashcards directly inside a page and study them without leaving your notes, or turn an entire page into a deck.

Is Scholarly free to use?

Yes! The free plan includes core study tools with lifetime allowances: 3 AI Chat messages, 500 autocomplete words, 5 quiz questions, 15 voice minutes, 1 practice exam, one free AI Creation Credit total, and 1 file upload. These allowances do not reset. Upgrade to Premium for 10 AI Creation Credits per week and unlimited uploads.

What uses my free AI Creation Credits?

AI Creation Credits are shared across flashcards, podcasts, videos, slides, AI Documents, Deep Research, and the Transcribe tool. The selected model determines the credit cost. Recording a meeting and saving its transcript never uses AI Creation Credits. On paid plans, Generate notes uses 1 credit per meeting, whatever its length; Free includes notes for its one saved meeting.

Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. There are no contracts or commitments. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Pricing is displayed in USD by default, but local currency is available in the app.

Can I use Scholarly with a class or school?

Yes. For a school or organization-wide rollout, contact us at hello@scholarly.so and we'll help you find the right setup.

What happens when I hit a free plan limit?

You'll see a prompt to upgrade. Your existing work is never lost — limits only apply to new actions. Free-plan allowances are lifetime credits and do not reset.
