Document types

Choose the file you actually need

AI Document is one picker. These are the types it can write from your material.

PDF, report, case study

A typeset document shaped by your instructions and sources.

Timeline

Dated events and milestones drawn from the material you attach.

SOP and flowchart

Numbered procedures or decision flows for training and operations.

Lesson plan, outline, rubric

Teaching and review documents with objectives, structure, and criteria.

Spreadsheet and table

A real Excel workbook, CSV, or structured table — not a screenshot of numbers.

Mind map

A one-page map of the central idea and how the pieces connect.

Cheat sheet and outline

Dense review pages and hierarchical outlines from the same sources.

Study and work extras

Calendars, Markdown, JSON exports, and other downloadable files.

Any file

When the format is the point, pick the file type and Scholarly writes it.

How it works

Source, type, finished document

You do not open a different product for each file type. You pick the type inside AI Document.

  1. 01

    Attach your material

Upload a PDF, notes, slides, a recording, or paste a brief. The document is written from that source.

  2. 02

    Choose the document type

Report, SOP, spreadsheet, mind map, timeline, rubric — one chooser, one source picker.

  3. 03

    Download or keep working

Open the PDF or file in your workspace, then turn the same source into flashcards, a quiz, or a lecture.

Why this is the product

One creator instead of a pile of tools

Mind maps, spreadsheets, SOPs, and reports are document types — not separate apps.

One source picker

Every document type uses the same sources you already uploaded.

Grounded output

The file is built from your material. It does not invent a generic template and hope it fits.

Stays in the workspace

The finished document sits next to chat, flashcards, and lectures from the same folder or project.

Why it exists

Stop treating every file type as a different product

Scholarly used to expose a separate creator for each document flavor. That made the product look like a directory of generators. The work is the same: take the user's source and return a finished, useful file.

AI Document is that shared creator. A spreadsheet, an SOP, a mind map, and a report all start from the same modal. You pick the type, attach sources, and get a downloadable file. Existing pages for those types still explain the output — they now send you here to make it.

That is the same job as the rest of Scholarly. Flashcards, lectures, and chat stay their own surfaces because people open them to study. Documents are a format choice inside one creator.

FAQ

Questions about AI Document

Is this different from the old mind map or spreadsheet tools?

The outputs still exist. You create them in AI Document by choosing Mind Map or Spreadsheet, instead of opening a separate generator.

What file types can it make?

PDFs (reports, timelines, SOPs, flowcharts, lesson plans, outlines, rubrics, cheat sheets, case studies, mind maps) and files (Excel, CSV, JSON, Markdown, calendars).

Does it use my own sources?

Yes. Attach PDFs, notes, slides, or a recording. The document is written from that material.

Can I still find the old tool pages?

Yes. Pages like the SOP generator, timeline generator, and spreadsheet feature are still live. They describe that document type and point back to AI Document.

How is this different from AI Chat?

Chat answers questions against your sources. AI Document writes a finished file you can download, share, or keep in the workspace.
