Who it's for

Built for people who teach from their own material

Professors and lecturers

Turn a week's slides or a reading into a recorded-style lecture for a flipped class, a missed session, or an online section, without booking a studio.

Teachers

Make a short explainer from a textbook chapter or your own handout, in the language your class learns in, with captions for every student.

Online course creators

Turn a course outline, ebook chapter, or written module into narrated lessons you can download as MP4 and upload to your course platform.

Corporate trainers

Turn a training deck or policy PDF into a narrated module, keep approved wording with Use my script as written, and publish it to your LMS.

What you can make

From slides, chapters, or a script to a lecture video

Every lecture is written from the pages you select, narrated by an AI voice, and rendered as animated scenes with chapters, synced captions, a transcript, and question checkpoints.

Slides to lecture video with voiceover

Upload a .pptx deck or a PDF export of your slides. Speaker notes are read with each slide, and the lecture is rebuilt as narrated, animated scenes rather than a screen recording.

A course module from a PDF chapter

Pick the pages of a textbook chapter, reading, or handout. The narration is written only from the pages you select, so the video teaches what your course teaches.

Your script, word for word

Already wrote the lecture? Turn on Use my script as written and the narrator keeps your wording and order instead of writing a new script.

Ready for your LMS or course platform

On a paid plan, download the MP4 and an export pack with the slides, the narration script by chapter, and captions as .vtt and .srt files.

  • Lectures up to 45 minutes on Premium and Laureate
  • 1080p Full HD and a logo-free MP4 on paid plans
  • Narration, captions, and on-screen text in over 70 languages
  • Chapters, synced captions, a transcript, and question checkpoints in every lecture

How it works

Three steps from your material to a published lecture

Updated October 2026

Scholarly is an AI lecture generator for instructors: upload your slides, PDF chapter, notes, or script, choose a length up to 45 minutes on a paid plan, a language, and a voice, and it renders a narrated, chaptered lecture video with captions that you can download as a 1080p MP4.

  1. 01

    Upload what you teach from

A PowerPoint deck, a PDF chapter or reading, typed notes, or a finished script. Pick only the pages this lecture should cover.

  2. 02

    Choose length, language, and voice

Set a target length (up to 45 minutes on Premium and Laureate), any of over 70 languages, and a narrator voice. Turn on Use my script as written to keep your wording.

  3. 03

    Review, then publish

Read the transcript against your source, then share the lecture by link or, on a paid plan, download the MP4 and captions for your LMS or course platform.

Know before you start

What Scholarly does not do

Plan around these so the lecture fits the way you already teach.

  • No avatar or on-screen presenter. The lecture is narrated visuals built from your material.
  • No recording of your own voice. You choose an AI narrator voice.
  • No timeline editor. To change what the lecture says, edit the source or instructions and generate again.
  • Not an LMS. There is no gradebook, enrollment, or completion certificate; upload the MP4 and captions to the LMS you use.
  • No SCORM package. The export pack holds the MP4, slides, script, and .vtt and .srt captions.

FAQ

Questions instructors ask

Can professors and teachers use Scholarly as an AI lecture generator for a course?

Yes. Upload the slides, PDF chapter, or notes you teach from, choose a length, language, and voice, and Scholarly generates a narrated, chaptered lecture video with captions, a transcript, and question checkpoints. Premium and Laureate set any length up to 45 minutes, render in 1080p, and download the MP4 with .vtt and .srt captions for your LMS. Turn on Use my script as written to keep your exact wording. There is no avatar or on-screen presenter.

Can I turn PowerPoint slides into a lecture video with voiceover?

Yes. Upload a .pptx deck or a PDF export of your slides. Scholarly reads each slide and its speaker notes, writes the narration (or keeps your script word for word when Use my script as written is on), and renders a narrated lecture with chapters and captions. You pick an AI narrator voice in any of over 70 languages; it is not a recording of your own voice.

Can I make an online course video from a PDF?

Yes. Upload the PDF, select the pages for one module, and choose a length up to 45 minutes on a paid plan. For a full course, make one lecture per chapter or module: shorter lectures stay focused and are easier to regenerate when the material changes. Download each one as an MP4 with captions and upload it to your course platform.

How long can a lecture video be?

Premium and Laureate set any target length up to 45 minutes before generating, and the lecture is planned to that length. A target over 15 minutes uses 1 extra AI Creation Credit and a target over 30 minutes uses 2. For a full course, one lecture per chapter or module usually works better than one very long video.

Can students watch without an account?

Yes. Share the lecture with a link set to Anyone with the link and viewers can watch in the browser, read the transcript, and jump between chapters without signing up. On a paid plan you can also download the MP4 and host it in your own LMS.

Will the lecture say things that are not in my material?

The narration is written from the pages you select, not from general web content. Review the transcript before you publish. If the exact wording matters, turn on Use my script as written and the narrator keeps your script's wording and order.

Can I make the same lecture in another language?

Yes. Narration, captions, on-screen text, and chapter titles follow the language you choose, from over 70 languages, and the source does not have to be in the same language. Generate the lecture once per language you need. Arabic and Hebrew lectures are laid out right to left.

Is it free?

You can sign up for free and try Scholarly on your own material. Custom lengths up to 45 minutes, 1080p, turning off the Scholarly logo, and downloading the MP4 and captions need a Premium or Laureate plan. Current prices for your country are on the pricing page.
