Guidde Alternative for Training Videos from Documents

Guidde is excellent at how-to videos captured from your screen. When the training lives in a document instead (an SOP, a policy, or a product manual), Scholarly turns it into a narrated, chaptered lecture up to 45 minutes with captions and question checkpoints.

Comparing tools for a whole team?

Scholarly Teams puts your team, class, lab, or company on one Premium or Laureate plan — the chosen access for every member, all built from your shared material.

Where Guidde Still Shines

Guidde is a great tool with real strengths worth acknowledging.

Screen capture is the product

Guidde's browser extension records a workflow as you click through it and turns it into a step-by-step video guide. For software walkthroughs, that is faster than any document-based tool.

Documentation exports

Business plans export MP4, GIF, and PPT, which suits help centers and internal wikis.

Low entry price

Per its pricing page, Guidde has a free plan with 25 videos, and Pro is $29 a month (or $19 billed yearly).

Where Scholarly Fits Better

Starts from documents on every plan

Upload a PDF, Word file, or PowerPoint deck on any plan. Guidde's file-to-video feature is on Business and Enterprise and reads up to 100 pages; Scholarly reads up to 1,000 pages on Premium and 3,000 on Laureate.

Lectures up to 45 minutes

Set any length up to 45 minutes on Premium or Laureate, and get chapters, synced captions, and a searchable transcript.

Teaches concepts, not just clicks

Policies, safety procedures, product knowledge, and theory become narrated scenes with diagrams, comparisons, and the figures from your document.

Checkpoints and a quiz

Every lecture asks questions during playback, and the same source makes a quiz, exam, or flashcards.

Over 70 narration languages

Narration, captions, and on-screen text follow the language you pick, with right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew.

Use my script as written

When the wording is approved, the narrator keeps it word for word.

How Scholarly Works

Step 1: Upload the document

A PDF, Word file, PowerPoint deck, or your own script. Pick the pages this video should cover.

Step 2: Generate the lecture

Choose a length (up to 45 minutes on paid plans), a language, and a voice. Scholarly writes the narration from your pages and adds chapters, captions, and question checkpoints.

Step 3: Review and share

Read the transcript against the source, then share a link, add it to your team library, or download the MP4 and captions on a paid plan.

Scholarly vs Guidde: A Closer Look

Guidde is a screen-capture tool for how-to content, and a good one. You click through a workflow with its browser extension and get a narrated, step-by-step guide. Per its pages on October 22, 2026, it has a free plan (25 videos), Pro at $29 a month or $19 billed yearly, and Business at $59 or $39 billed yearly. Creating a guide from a PDF, PowerPoint, or Word file is on Business and Enterprise, up to 100 pages, with narration in 50+ languages.

Scholarly starts where Guidde does not: the document. Upload an SOP, policy, or manual, pick the pages, and get a narrated lecture up to 45 minutes with chapters, captions, a transcript, and question checkpoints, plus a quiz from the same source.

Many teams need both. Use Guidde to show where to click in your software, and Scholarly to teach the policy, process, or product knowledge behind it.
