When Are CFA Results Released? 2026 Dates
Every CFA results date CFA Institute has published in 2026, when August 2026 Level I, II and III results are expected, how to check them, and what comes next

CFA results in 2026 have so far come out on March 19 (February Level I), April 7 (February Level III), June 23 (May Level I) and June 25 (May Level II), and August 2026 results are expected in October 2026, inside CFA Institute's stated 5-9 week window. CFA Institute does not publish a results calendar in advance. It confirms each date shortly before release, emails every candidate on the day, and posts a press release with the pass rate. If you sat in August 2026, the useful numbers are how long each recent window took and what that implies for yours.
CFA results dates 2026: the official schedule so far
CFA Institute's guidance is that you will receive an email within 5-9 weeks after the close of your exam window, and the Level I exam page says results are typically available within 5-7 weeks. Here is every release for the 2025-26 cycle, taken from the CFA Institute press room, followed by the windows still ahead.
| Exam window | Level | Results released | Pass rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| August 2025 | Level I | October 7, 2025 | 43% |
| August 2025 | Level II | October 9, 2025 | 44% |
| August 2025 | Level III | October 23, 2025 | 50% |
| November 2025 | Level I | January 13, 2026 | 43% |
| November 2025 | Level II | January 15, 2026 | 42% |
| February 2026 | Level I | March 19, 2026 | 45% |
| February 2026 | Level III | April 7, 2026 | 50% |
| May 2026 | Level I | June 23, 2026 | 39% |
| May 2026 | Level II | June 25, 2026 | 43% |
| August 2026 | Level I, II, III | Not yet published | Not yet published |
| November 2026 | Level I, II | Not yet published | Not yet published |
Two patterns stand out. Level I and Level II results from the same window land two days apart, Level I first. Level III takes two to three weeks longer, consistent with an exam that includes 11 essay sets. Both patterns held across every release above.
The upcoming windows, from the official dates and fees tool as of September 1, 2026:
- November 2026: Level I on 11-17 November, Level II on 18-22 November. Registration has closed; rescheduling deadlines are 31 October and 7 November respectively.
- February 2027: Level III on 18-21 February, Level I on 22-28 February. Registration for both closes 5 November 2026.
When will August 2026 CFA results come out?
CFA Institute has not announced the August 2026 results dates as of September 1, 2026. Applying the 5-9 week rule and the timing of every August 2025 release, the reasonable expectation is:
- Level I: early October 2026.
- Level II: a couple of days after Level I.
- Level III: later in October 2026, two to three weeks after Level I.
Treat those as expectations, not dates. CFA Institute says it sends periodic messages on the progress of results and confirms the date ahead of release, so watch the email on your candidate account rather than forum estimates.
How to check your CFA results
- Watch for the email from CFA Institute on the release date. It tells you that your official results are available.
- Sign in to your CFA Institute account and open the results section, where the full score report lives.
- Read the report. You get Pass or Did Not Pass, your overall scale score, the Minimum Passing Score (MPS) it was measured against, and a topic-by-topic breakdown against the group average. Level III candidates who pass receive only a congratulatory email, with no topic detail.
Results stay in your account for approximately one year after the test date. After that you can request a verification letter confirming pass or fail, without the topic detail, so save a copy while you have it.
What to do if your results are late or missing
Almost every "missing" result has one of three causes.
- You have not completed the Practical Skills Module. You must complete one PSM at each level to receive your exam result (Level III included, since February 2025). An unfinished PSM holds your result until it is done.
- The email went to another address or a spam folder. Check the address on your candidate profile, then sign in directly. The account is the source of truth, not the inbox.
- Your level's date has not arrived yet. Level I goes first, Level II follows a couple of days later, and Level III waits two to three more weeks. That gap is normal.
If your level's confirmed date has passed, your PSM is complete, and your account is still empty after a day, contact CFA Institute customer support with your CFA Institute ID.
What your score means and what happens next
The score report answers one question: how far from the line were you? From the official guide:
- The MPS is set by the CFA Institute Board of Governors and is not published as a fixed percentage. It is re-established after significant curriculum or candidate-population changes; otherwise it is carried across administrations through equating.
- Your scale score sits inside a confidence interval. Below the MPS with an overlapping interval means you are close and may need only a little more study, in CFA Institute's own words. An interval entirely below the MPS calls for "substantial remediation" before retaking.
- There is no minimum score by topic. The 70% and 50% lines on page two are guides: consistent performance above 70% is described as a reasonable signal of mastery, and a topic whose interval sits entirely below 50% needs real work.
If you passed Level I or II, registration for the next level is normally open by the time your result arrives; February 2027 Level III registration, for example, opened in May 2026 and closes 5 November 2026. If you passed Level III, the charter follows once you meet CFA Institute's work experience and membership requirements.
If you did not pass, the retake rules matter. You can sit a maximum of twice per calendar year, never in consecutive windows and never in windows within six months of each other. So an August 2026 candidate cannot retake in November 2026; the next eligible window is February 2027, and registration closes 5 November 2026, likely only weeks after your result arrives. CFA Institute is also eliminating the paid deferral option from the February 2027 cycles, so register only for a window you intend to sit. (Sitting the CPA as well? Prepare for the next step with your own materials
Whether you are moving up a level or retaking, the topic breakdown on page two of your report is the study plan. Turn it into something concrete:
- Put the expected results date, the 5 November registration deadline, and your exam window into the AI calendar generator to get an .ics file with reminders, so the deadline does not slip past you in the weeks after results.
- Upload your curriculum readings or notes for the two or three weakest topics and use the practice test generator to build timed item sets from them. Questions built from the material you actually studied target your gaps, not a generic bank's.
- For formulas, ethics standards, and definitions, the flashcard maker turns those same files into decks for daily review.
Scholarly is built for exactly this: bring your own sources, and it produces practice questions, flashcards, study guides, and a chat grounded in them. For a broader roundup, see the best AI tools for certification exam prep.
CFA results FAQ
When are CFA Level 1 results released in 2026?
So far in 2026: March 19 for the February window and June 23 for the May window. August 2026 Level I results are not yet scheduled and are expected in early October 2026; November 2026 results are expected in January 2027 if the 2025 pattern holds.
How long after the CFA exam do results come out?
CFA Institute's official range is 5-9 weeks after the exam window closes, and the Level I page says typically 5-7 weeks. Level III has consistently been at the longer end.
Does CFA Institute publish the minimum passing score?
No. The MPS is set by the Board of Governors and appears on your individual score report as the line your scale score is measured against, but it is not published as a public number.
Can I retake in the very next window if I fail?
No. Attempts are limited to twice per calendar year, not in consecutive windows and not within six months of each other. An August 2026 candidate who does not pass is next eligible in February 2027.
