COMLEX-USA scores in 2026 come out on fixed dates that NBOME publishes for each testing window, not on a rolling basis. If you sat Level 1 between August 28 and September 23, your result posts on October 6, 2026. A Level 2-CE exam taken August 24 to September 9 posts on September 22, 2026. A Level 3 exam taken August 3 to 29 posts on October 8, 2026. NBOME's FAQ says scores are typically released before 5:00 PM Central on the release date, and its scoring page says scores are generally available within two to six weeks after a window closes for Level 1 and Level 2-CE (the FAQ says approximately four to six), and eight to ten weeks for Level 3. The full schedule for every window is below.

COMLEX-USA score release dates 2026: the official schedule

NBOME publishes a testing-window and score-release table for each examination cycle. The tables below reproduce the published dates for the 2026-2027 Level 1 and Level 2-CE cycles and the 2026 Level 3 cycle. NBOME says the dates are "subject to change contingent upon candidate scheduling" or testing-site limitations, so confirm against the official page before planning around a specific day.

Level 3

Level 3 windows also carry a registration deadline, which NBOME lists alongside the release date.

November 30 to December 19, 2026 October 21, 2026 February 11, 2027

NBOME has also published a 2027 Level 3 cycle on the same page; its first window, January 13 to February 6, 2027, releases on April 8, 2027. Note that the gap between a window closing and the score posting is not constant: for Level 1 and Level 2-CE it runs from about two weeks (late-summer windows) to about five weeks (early-summer windows), and 2026 Level 3 dates fall roughly six to eight weeks after each window closes. The published date is the one that counts; the general guidance is a fallback for unscheduled windows.

How to check your COMLEX-USA score

  1. Sign in to the NBOME Portal. NBOME's scoring page says you "may access score reports for any COMLEX-USA examination through the NBOME Portal." That is the candidate channel; there is no separate results site.
  2. Open the "View Scores" tab. Score confirmation requests start from the same tab.
  3. Check after 5:00 PM Central. NBOME's FAQ says scores are typically released before 5:00 PM Central on the release date. Nothing at noon is not a delay.
  4. Save a copy. NBOME's FAQ says score reports are also shared with your college of osteopathic medicine or residency program, but keep the report for your own records.

What a delay means

If your release date has passed and the portal still shows nothing, work through these in order:

  • Confirm you have the right window. Release dates follow the window you tested in, not the calendar month. A Level 2-CE exam on September 9 posts September 22; one taken the next day, September 10, posts October 22.
  • Wait until the following business day. A report posted late on the release date is within normal operation.
  • Check the official page for a revised date. NBOME says dates can change with candidate scheduling and testing-site limitations, and its FAQ says that if a delay is anticipated, candidates are notified by email, the NBOME website, and social media.
  • Contact NBOME Client Services if the date has clearly passed with no result, with your NBOME ID and test date ready.
  • Do not assume the worst. NBOME publishes one release date per window, not separate dates by outcome; a missing report points to a processing or account problem, not to your result.

What the score means

Level 1 is pass/fail only. NBOME announced on January 24, 2022 that Level 1 reporting would move "from a three-digit numeric score to 'Pass' or 'Fail' outcomes" for examinations taken on or after May 10, 2022. The report still includes a Formative Performance Profile comparing your overall and content-area performance to other first-time takers who passed, so read it even when the headline is one word.

Level 2-CE and Level 3 report a three-digit standard score and a pass/fail designation. The passing score is 400 for Level 2-CE and 350 for Level 3, and both reports include a graphical Performance Profile by content area. Because Level 1 no longer carries a number, Level 2-CE is the COMLEX-USA score residency programs can compare, which is why its release date matters for application timing.

Score confirmation is available. NBOME's FAQ says you can request one from the "View Scores" tab within 120 days of your examination date, for a fee listed on the NBOME site; Level 1 and Level 2-CE confirmations take about 10 business days and Level 3 about 15. It is a re-check of scoring, not a re-grade.

Getting your scores into ERAS and to licensing boards

A score posting in the NBOME Portal does not send anything anywhere. Two separate mechanisms do that:

  • ERAS. NBOME's FAQ is blunt: scores are not sent to ERAS automatically, and "you must submit a request through ERAS to send your scores." If a Level 2-CE result lands in late September or October, when programs are already reviewing, confirm in MyERAS that the new score has actually been transmitted rather than assuming it went out.
  • Certified transcripts. For state licensing boards and FCVS, request a certified transcript from the "Transcripts" page of your NBOME account. NBOME calls it "the only verification of scores the NBOME considers acceptable" for licensing agencies and FCVS; normal processing is within two business days of request and payment, and delivery is electronic to FCVS or participating state boards, with paper delivery for an extra fee. Current fees are listed in NBOME's FAQ.

Prepare for the next Level with your own materials

If you passed Level 1, the Level 2-CE window you are aiming for is already in the table above, and if your Performance Profile flagged two or three content areas, that is a study plan.

Scholarly is a source-grounded study workspace: bring your PDFs, recordings, and notes, and it produces flashcards, practice questions, study guides, and a chat grounded in those sources. The free plan includes one upload and one AI creation, enough to test it on a single lecture before your Level 2-CE prep.
