Gemini 3.5 Flash is Live on Scholarly
Gemini 3.5 Flash is now available in Scholarly as Google's premium chat model, replacing Gemini Pro while Gemini 3 Flash remains available for fast everyday study questions.
Gemini 3.5 Flash is now available in Scholarly's AI Chat. It replaces Gemini Pro as our premium Google model option, giving paid users a stronger Google model for harder questions, source-heavy work, and careful explanations.
We are also keeping Gemini 3 Flash available. If you liked using Gemini Flash for quick answers, lightweight content generation, or faster everyday chats, that path is not going away. The change is simple: Gemini 3 Flash stays fast and efficient, while Gemini 3.5 Flash becomes the premium Google option.
Why We Added Gemini 3.5 Flash
Students do not always need the same model. Some questions are quick: summarize this paragraph, draft a flashcard, explain a term, or help plan a study session. Other questions need deeper reasoning: compare sources, walk through a multi-step proof, analyze a long PDF, or turn messy notes into a careful answer.
Gemini 3.5 Flash gives Scholarly a better Google model for that second category. It is designed for stronger reasoning while still keeping the speed profile people expect from the Flash family. That makes it a good fit for:
- Long-form explanations from PDFs, notes, and uploaded materials.
- Step-by-step help on math, science, and technical subjects.
- Source-heavy study questions where the answer needs to stay grounded.
- Follow-up-heavy chats where you want the model to keep context and refine the answer.
What Happens to Gemini 3 Flash?
Gemini 3 Flash is still available and remains the cheaper Google Flash path inside Scholarly.
Use Gemini 3 Flash when you want a fast, capable answer and do not need the strongest premium reasoning model. It is still a good choice for quick study help, lightweight summaries, short explanations, and everyday chat.
Use Gemini 3.5 Flash when the question is harder, the source material is denser, or you want a more careful answer from Google's model family.
What Happens to Gemini Pro?
Gemini 3.5 Flash replaces Gemini Pro in Scholarly's premium Google model slot. Existing conversations that were using Gemini Pro will continue to work and now route through Gemini 3.5 Flash, so you do not need to restart old chats or change anything manually.
In the model picker, you will now see Gemini 3.5 Flash as the premium Google option and Gemini 3 Flash as the faster everyday Google option.
How to Try It
- Open any chat in Scholarly.
- Click the model selector above the chat input.
