3D models for training, built from your SOPs and manuals

Add the equipment manual, SOP, or spec sheet you already have and Scholarly builds a labelled, interactive 3D model of it: a pump cutaway, a production line, a product's internals, a cloud architecture. Put it in your training deck or video the same day.

Free to start. A full build uses 1 AI Creation Credit, and you confirm it first. Small edits are free.

Quick answer

3D training visuals without a 3D production project

Custom 3D training usually means hiring a studio or building in a game engine: worth it for full simulations, but slow and expensive when you need a clear picture of one machine, one procedure, or one system for next week's session.

Scholarly builds that picture from your documents. Add the manual or SOP, ask for the model in plain words, and the AI writes an interactive 3D model labelled with your document's part names. Export it as a transparent PNG, a turntable video, or a .glb for PowerPoint, and turn the same source into a training video and a quiz.

Training scenarios

What training teams build

3D helps when trainees need to see what is inside, what connects to what, or the order things happen in.

Field service and maintenance

A pump, compressor, or HVAC unit as a labelled cutaway from the service manual, so technicians see the seal, bearings, and impeller before they open the casing.

Manufacturing and safety

A production line or a six-stage process with each station numbered from your SOP, to walk new operators through the flow and the hazard points.

Product training and sales enablement

A product's internals from the spec sheet, labelled for the features reps need to explain, ready as a turntable video for a demo deck.

IT and architecture onboarding

A cloud architecture, network tiers, or a data pipeline from your architecture doc, laid out in 3D so new engineers see how the services connect.

Compliance and procedures

The equipment or workspace behind a procedure, labelled with the steps from your SOP, to sit beside the written policy in a compliance module.

Customer education

How a product goes together or where a part sits, for help centre articles, onboarding emails, and customer training webinars.

Try asking

Sample prompts from real training docs

Ask in plain words in the chat beside the model. Point it at your document and the labels use its part names.

  • "Build a maintenance cutaway of the pump in this manual and label every part in the exploded view on page 14."
  • "Model our water treatment process as six stations in order, numbered the way the SOP numbers them."
  • "Show this three-tier architecture with the load balancer, app servers, and database, and animate a request flowing through."
  • "Add a slider for valve position so trainees can see flow change."
  • "Change the label colours to our brand blue and make the background white for the deck."

How it works

From SOP to 3D training model in four steps

The model sits on one side and the chat that builds and edits it on the other.

  1. 01

Add your training docs, or start empty

Create a 3D model and add 1 to 20 sources, depending on plan: an equipment manual, an SOP, a spec sheet, an architecture doc, a recording, or a link. Pick the pages you need, or start empty and describe it.

  2. 02

    Ask for the model

Say what to build and who it is for, for example "a labelled cutaway of this compressor for new technicians". You confirm the build, and its 1 AI Creation Credit, before anything starts.

  3. 03

    Scholarly builds it

Over a few minutes, the AI reads your documents and writes the model as three.js code, with geometry, materials, lighting, labels with leader lines, and animation where a process needs it.

  4. 04

    Review, then ship it

Preview the draft and apply it or keep the current version. Fix a label or colour with a free edit in chat, then export it for your deck, video, or course.

Into your training material

Drop the model into decks, videos, and courses

Exports come with a paid plan. Each format fits a different part of a training programme.

Transparent PNG

The model with no background, to sit cleanly on a branded slide, job aid, or course page.

Turntable video

An 8-second 1080p MP4 of the model turning, for a training video, a demo deck, or an LMS module.

.glb 3D file

Insert it into PowerPoint as a 3D model presenters can rotate, or open it in Blender and web 3D viewers.

4K PNG

A sharp still for printed job aids, posters at the workstation, and manuals.

Same source, full training kit

The document that built the model can build the course

Your SOPs and manuals stay in your Scholarly library, so the same source becomes the rest of the training.

SOPs and guides

A clean SOP or step-by-step guide from a messy manual or a recorded walkthrough.

Training video

A narrated training video from the same source, with the model's turntable MP4 alongside.

Knowledge check

A quiz from the same document to confirm trainees understood the procedure.

Slides

An AI slide deck from the same source, ready for the model's PNG or turntable video.

Training a whole team?

Scholarly Teams adds a shared source library, Owner, Admin, and Member roles, activity reporting, and one bill, so every trainer builds from the same approved documents.

Beta

What 3D models do today, and what they don't

3D models are new and in Beta. Here is exactly where the edges are.

Works today

  • Build from manuals, SOPs, specs, architecture docs, recordings, or links (1 to 20 sources, depending on plan), or start empty
  • Labels from your documents with leader lines, animation, and live sliders and switches when a value changes the outcome
  • Free small edits in chat, full builds you preview before applying, and Undo
  • Share a model by link, or export a 4K PNG, transparent PNG, turntable MP4, or .glb on a paid plan

Not supported

  • Models explain how something works. They are not CAD-accurate or engineering-grade
  • No STL or OBJ export, no CAD import, and no 3D printing
  • No manual sculpting or dragging parts, and no VR or AR simulations. You change a model by asking chat
  • It's a Beta, so have a subject matter expert check the labels before a model goes in front of trainees

FAQ

Questions about 3D models for training

How do I make 3D training materials without a 3D artist?

Add the document you already train from, such as an equipment manual, SOP, or spec sheet, and ask Scholarly for a model in plain words. The AI writes an interactive 3D model labelled with the document's part names, and you refine it by asking in chat. There is no 3D software to learn and nothing to install. 3D models are in Beta.

Can I use the models in PowerPoint and training videos?

Yes, on a paid plan. Export a transparent PNG for slides, an 8-second 1080p turntable MP4 for videos and LMS modules, a 4K PNG for printed job aids, or a .glb file that you can insert into PowerPoint as a 3D model and rotate while presenting.

How accurate are the models?

They are explanatory models built from what your documents say, not CAD drawings or measured designs. Labels follow your source, but the AI can still get something wrong, so have someone who knows the equipment review each model before trainees see it. Fixing a label is a free edit in chat.

Can I import CAD files or export for 3D printing?

No. Scholarly builds from documents and descriptions, not CAD files, and exports images, a turntable video, and a .glb file. There is no STL or OBJ export and no 3D printing.

Is this a training simulation or VR tool?

No. Scholarly makes labelled 3D models for explaining equipment, processes, and systems, to use in decks, videos, and courses. It does not build interactive simulations, VR, or AR experiences, and it is not an LMS.

How much does it cost?

Scholarly is free to start. A full build uses 1 AI Creation Credit, and you confirm it first. On paid plans you can choose a Best build for 2 credits. Small edits in chat, such as a label's wording, a colour, or an animation's speed, are free. Exports need a paid plan.

Can my whole team use it?

Yes. Each person can start on their own plan. Scholarly Teams adds a shared source library, Owner, Admin, and Member roles, activity reporting, and one bill. Inviting teammates needs a paid team plan.
