How it works
From source to slides in three steps
Pick what you have, let the AI draft the structure, then edit and present.
01
Step 1: Pick a Source
A topic, a PDF, lecture notes, or a research paper: anything goes.
02
Step 2: AI Drafts
Title slide, agenda, content slides with bullets, and conclusion, all drafted automatically.
03
Step 3: Present & Share
Present it in Scholarly or share a viewing link on any plan; on a paid plan, export it to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides.
However your material starts, the AI shapes it into a deck you can present.
Class presentations
Drop a paper or chapter; get a presentation outline you can polish in minutes.
Lecture-style review
Turn dense reading into a slide-by-slide visual summary you can study from.
Project pitches
Outline, key points, takeaways: the structure you'd otherwise stare at a blank slide for.
Quick answer
What is an AI slide generator?
An AI slide generator turns your material into a structured slide deck automatically. Scholarly builds the deck from a topic, pasted notes, a PDF, a Word or PowerPoint file, a spreadsheet, a web link, or a file from Google Drive, so the slides reflect your source instead of generic filler. Free: one lifetime AI Creation Credit (one deck) and one file upload of up to 8 MB; for a PDF, the first 32 pages are used. Premium: 15 AI Creation Credits a week, files up to 300 MB, and PDFs up to 1,000 pages. Laureate: 80 credits a week, files up to 1,000 MB, and PDFs up to 3,000 pages. Choose 5 to 30 slides on Premium and Laureate (Free decks have 10) and a look or dark mode; every slide comes with speaker notes, which the PowerPoint download includes. Every plan can present the deck and share a viewing link; downloading it as PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF, or saving it to Google Slides, requires a paid plan. Best for: decks that have to match a specific reading, lecture, report, or set of notes.
Why it works
What AI Slide Generation Actually Solves
The hardest part of building a slide deck isn't the design. It's the structure. What's the agenda? Which points get their own slide? What's the title for slide 7? Scholarly's AI handles the outline so you can focus on the parts only you can do: refining the message, picking the visuals, and rehearsing the delivery.
Every generated deck has a coherent flow: title slide, motivation, agenda, content broken into one-idea-per-slide, and a wrap-up. Bullets are concise. Headings tell a story. You spend your time editing rather than authoring from scratch.
Because Scholarly is source-grounded, the deck is built from what you give it. Turn notes into slides by pasting your class notes, or generate slides from a PDF by uploading a chapter or research paper. The AI pulls the headings, key terms, and supporting points straight from that material rather than inventing facts. That's the difference between a study slides generator that reflects your actual syllabus and a generic AI slideshow generator that guesses.
Works for Any Subject
STEM lab presentations, humanities seminar talks, language-class oral presentations, business case studies, science-fair projects: Scholarly adapts the slide structure to the discipline and audience.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an AI slide generator?
An AI slide generator turns a topic, document, or set of notes into a structured slide deck. Scholarly handles the outline, slide titles, and bullet content automatically.
What inputs does it accept?
Topics, pasted notes, PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, spreadsheets, web links, and Google Drive files. For a PDF you can pick the page range; Free uses up to the first 32 pages, Premium up to 1,000, and Laureate up to 3,000.
How many slides does it make?
As many as you pick within your plan. On Premium and Laureate the Slides slider runs from 5 to 30 slides and new decks start at 15; on Free every deck is 10 slides. The deck is planned to the count you choose and can land a slide or two over it. To cover more of a long source, pick a longer deck or a narrower page range.
Can I edit the slides after generation?
The deck is generated as a finished PDF, so slides are not edited in place. Choose the length before you generate: 5 to 30 slides on paid plans, and 10 on Free. To change the structure, wording, or style, regenerate with custom instructions (for example "add a slide on X"), and the AI rebuilds the deck from your source with those changes.
Can I export the slides to PowerPoint?
Yes, on a paid plan. Every plan can present the deck in Scholarly and share a viewing link. Premium and Laureate can download it as a PDF or a PowerPoint (.pptx) file, or save it to Google Slides when Google Drive is connected (Scholarly creates a separate copy in your Drive). Each slide exports as its rendered visual, so you can reorder, remove, or add slides in PowerPoint or Google Slides, but the slide text is not editable there. The PowerPoint file includes each slide's speaker notes. Free plans view, present, and share by link only.
Is the AI slide generator free?
Yes, to start. Free includes one lifetime AI Creation Credit, which does not reset, so you can make one 10-slide deck for free, plus one file upload of up to 8 MB. Every plan can present and share the deck by link. Premium includes 15 AI Creation Credits each week, files up to 300 MB, decks of 5 to 30 slides, and PowerPoint (.pptx) with speaker notes, PDF, and Google Slides export.
Does it work for any subject?
Yes: STEM, humanities, business, languages, social sciences. The AI adjusts the slide structure to the discipline and audience you specify.
How do I generate slides from my notes?
Paste your notes into the prompt box (up to 5,000 characters) or upload them as a PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or text file, set the number of slides, and generate. Scholarly groups related points, puts them in a teaching order, gives each idea its own slide, and writes speaker notes for every slide from your notes, so the deck matches what your class or meeting actually covered.
Can I turn notes into slides or generate slides from a PDF?
Both. To turn notes into slides, paste or type your notes; to generate slides from a PDF, upload a chapter, lecture handout, or research paper. The AI reads the source, extracts the structure, and drafts a structured deck grounded in that material, not a generic template.
Can I turn a lecture transcript or recording into slides?
Yes, from the transcript. Upload it as a text, Word, or PDF file, or paste a shorter excerpt (up to 5,000 characters) into the prompt box, and the AI reorganises it into a slide deck with speaker notes. AI Slides reads text-based sources, so it does not take an audio or video file directly; transcribe the recording first. On Free, the one lifetime AI Creation Credit covers one 10-slide deck, and downloading it as PowerPoint requires a paid plan.
Is there a free AI presentation maker from my notes or PDF?
Yes. Scholarly's Free plan makes one 10-slide deck from your notes, a PDF, or a topic with its one lifetime AI Creation Credit, which does not reset, and no credit card is needed. Paste your notes or upload a file of up to 8 MB; for a PDF, the first 32 pages are used. You can present the deck and share a viewing link for free. Downloading it as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file with each slide's speaker notes or as a PDF, or saving it to Google Slides, requires a paid plan.
Free makes a lecture of about 2 minutes in 720p with the Scholarly logo, to watch in Scholarly. Premium and Laureate make lectures up to 45 minutes in 1080p that you can download as an MP4, with the logo off if you choose.
