Quick answer

What are Scholarly AI Slides?

Scholarly AI Slides turns a topic, pasted notes, a PDF, a report, SOP, or training document, a Word or PowerPoint file, a spreadsheet, a web link, or a file from Google Drive into a designed slide deck with speaker notes. It runs on the same engine as Scholarly's AI Video Lectures: the AI writes the talk first, which becomes your speaker notes, then designs each slide - a comparison, a process, a chart, a table, an equation, a diagram, or a figure from your PDF - and reviews the finished slides before the deck reaches you. Choose 5 to 30 slides on Premium and Laureate; Free decks have 10 slides. Free: one lifetime AI Creation Credit (one deck) and one file upload of up to 8 MB; for a PDF, the first 32 pages are used. Premium: 15 AI Creation Credits a week, files up to 300 MB, and PDFs up to 1,000 pages. Laureate: 80 credits a week, files up to 1,000 MB, and PDFs up to 3,000 pages. Every plan can present the deck in Scholarly and share a viewing link; downloading it as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file with the speaker notes included or as a PDF, or saving it to Google Slides, requires a paid plan. Best for: training and onboarding decks, reports and briefings, client proposals, and research talks built from your own sources.

  1. 01

    Add your source

Start from a PDF, report, SOP, notes, a Word or PowerPoint file, a web link, or a topic prompt. For a PDF, pick the exact page range to build from. Then choose how many slides you want - 5 to 30 on paid plans, 10 on Free - and a look or dark mode.

  2. 02

    Generate a deck

Scholarly writes the talk first, then designs each slide in the shape the content calls for - a definition, a comparison, a step-by-step process, a statistic, an equation, a chart, a table, a timeline, a diagram, or a figure taken from your PDF - instead of turning everything into bullets. It then reviews every finished slide and repairs clipped or missing content before the deck is ready.

  3. 03

    Present and reuse

Present the deck full screen and share a viewing link on every plan. On a paid plan, download it as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file with your speaker notes, as a PDF, or save it to Google Slides. The same source can also become a video lecture, a quiz, or a podcast.

Best uses for AI slides

Training and onboarding

Turn an SOP, policy, or product guide into a training deck, with the trainer's talk track in the speaker notes.

Reports and briefings

Turn a quarterly report, research paper, or memo into a briefing deck that keeps its numbers and figures.

Client and sales decks

Build a deck from a proposal, case study, or product sheet, grounded in what the document actually says.

Teaching and exam prep

Make a lecture or review deck from a chapter, manual, or study guide, with notes to present from.

Input

PDFs, reports, SOPs, notes, outlines, pasted text, and topic prompts.

Output

A designed slide deck with speaker notes, built from your source, for training, briefings, client meetings, and lectures.

Best for

Professionals, trainers, teams, and researchers who want the deck, the notes, and the rest of the workflow in one place.

Built on the same engine as AI Video Lectures

AI Slides uses the same planner, slide designs, and review step as Scholarly's AI Video Lectures. The script a video would narrate becomes your speaker notes, and each slide is drawn by the same designs and rendered as a finished still. Figures come straight from your PDF, pictures are added where they help, and a review of the whole rendered deck catches clipped text and empty slides before you open it. Decks are also much faster to make than with the previous version of AI Slides.

Speaker notes on every slide

Every slide comes with notes written from your source: what to say, the detail behind each point, and the figures to quote. The slide stays readable on a screen while the notes carry the full explanation. On a paid plan, the PowerPoint download puts each slide's notes in PowerPoint's notes pane, ready for Presenter View.

Choose the length, the look, and the language

Set the number of slides before you generate: 5 to 30 on Premium and Laureate, and 10 on Free. Pick a colour look or switch the whole deck to dark mode. Decks follow your source's language, including right-to-left text such as Arabic and Hebrew. Saved Customisation Profiles carry your written instructions into every new deck, and team admins can share them.

AI slides built from your own material

Most AI presentation tools start from a prompt and invent the structure. Scholarly starts from your actual material, picks the right slide shape for each idea - comparison, process, statistic, diagram, equation, timeline - and keeps the deck tied to the content you need to teach or present.

More than a presentation generator

After the deck is made, the same source can become a narrated video lecture, a podcast, a practice test, flashcards, or notes. That shared workflow is why AI slides belong in Scholarly instead of a separate design-only app.

Good for training, briefings, and review

Upload an SOP, a report, a chapter summary, or meeting notes. Scholarly organises the material into a slide deck you can review, present, and export as a .pptx file with speaker notes on a paid plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Scholarly make slides from a PDF?

Yes. Use PDF to Slides AI to turn any PDF - a textbook chapter, research paper, or work report - into a deck, or use AI Slide Generator when you want a broader prompt-based deck. You can also select a specific page range of the PDF so the deck covers just the chapter you need.

Is this only for school presentations?

No. It works for class presentations, lecture decks, and study-review slides, and equally for work decks, client proposals, team updates, research talks, and topic explainers.

Can I export the slides to PowerPoint?

Scholarly generates the deck as a rendered slide deck you present in Slides View and share by link on every plan. On a paid plan you can download it as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file with each slide's speaker notes, a Word (.docx) file, or a PDF, or save it to Google Slides or Google Docs with Google Drive connected. In the .pptx export each slide comes through as its rendered visual, so the design stays intact; the slide text is not delivered as editable text boxes.

Is there a free AI presentation maker from my notes or PDF?

Yes. Scholarly's Free plan makes one 10-slide deck from your notes, a PDF, or a topic with its one lifetime AI Creation Credit, which does not reset. Paste your notes or upload a file of up to 8 MB; for a PDF, the first 32 pages are used. You can present the deck and share a viewing link for free. Downloading it as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file with speaker notes or as a PDF, or saving it to Google Slides, requires a paid plan. The same source can then become flashcards, a quiz, notes, a podcast, or a video lecture.

Which slide tool should I use for my source?

Use the AI Slide Generator for the canonical slide workflow from PDFs, notes, links, or a topic. Use Notes to PowerPoint when notes are your starting point, or Slides to Video when you want to narrate an existing deck. Generated decks can be presented and shared on every plan and exported as PowerPoint (.pptx), Google Slides, or PDF on paid plans. Free users get the recommended AI model automatically; choosing a specific model is a paid feature.

How many slides can a deck have?

On Premium and Laureate, choose 5 to 30 slides with the Slides setting before you generate. Free plans make 10-slide decks. Most AI models use 1 AI Creation Credit per deck.
