What is Human Resource Management?
Human Resource Management refers to all the activities involved in determining an organization's human resource needs, acquiring, training, and compensating people to fill those needs.
What is Job Analysis in the context of Planning for Human Resources Needs?
Job Analysis is the determination through observation and study of pertinent information about a job, including specific tasks and necessary abilities, knowledge, and skills.
What is a Job Description?
A formal written explanation of a specific job, usually including job title, tasks, relationship with other jobs, physical and mental skills required, duties, responsibilities, and working conditions.
What is a Job Specification?
A description of the qualifications necessary for a specific job in terms of education, experience, and personal and physical characteristics.

What are some forms of Financial Compensation for the workforce?
Wages, Commission, Salary.
What are Benefits in the context of Compensating the Workforce?
Benefits are non-financial forms of compensation such as pensions, health insurance, paid vacation, etc.
What is Collective Bargaining in managing Unionized Employees?
Collective Bargaining is the negotiation process through which management and unions reach an agreement about compensation, working hours, and working conditions for the bargaining unit.
Why is Diversity important in the workforce?
The workforce and the consumer base are becoming increasingly diverse, leading to a more productive use of company's human resources, reduced conflict among employees, more productive working relationships, increased commitment to organizational goals, increased innovation and creativity, and an increased ability to serve a more diverse customer base.
What are Affirmative Action plans?
Affirmative Action plans are legally mandated plans that try to increase job opportunities for minority groups.
What are some Labor Tactics
Picketing(People protest outside of the work area), Strikes(work stoppage) and Boycotts(abstention from a person, product or company)
What are some Management tactics
Lockouts(Stoppage of work for labor disputes by management), Strikebreakers(people who work despite a strike happening)

Technology changes, Independent Contractors (e.g., Uber), Working locations.
